Abraham. The first or second generation of his descendants might have felt too vulnerable living on the strength of his relationship with God and decided to return ‘home’ to the region of Ur. They certainly would have had opportunity to return. But the faith lived on, and they knew that their future was with God. They were longing for a better country—a heavenly one.
